At PSG, we offer a leading-edge approach to mental health and emotional well-being:
Ketamine is a type of medicine made in a lab, and it’s used by doctors to help people feel less pain. It’s called a dissociative anesthetic because it makes you feel like you’re not really connected to your body. Our team of licensed therapists and medical professionals specializes in the safe and effective use of Ketamine for therapeutic purposes and have completed specific training for KAP.
KAP is essentially a form of therapy where ketamine is used to boost its effects. It falls under the category of psychedelic-assisted therapy, with the main emphasis on psychotherapy. Ketamine acts as a tool to enhance the therapeutic process. The therapy is done before, during, and after you ingest the ketamine. It is a relatively new approach that arose out of the data coming out of ketamine infusion centers that were seeing improvement in mental health conditions. Most infusion centers are not doing concurrent therapy with the administration of ketamine.
Research has found that small amounts of Ketamine can make people feel happier, but it works better when they take it many times in a row over a short period of time. Some practitioners, including us, view the psychedelic and dissociative experiences that occur at higher doses to provide a more robust and longer-lasting outcome.
We think the administration of ketamine can be most effective when paired with psychotherapy. We offer a psychotherapy program that will prepare you for your ketamine sessions, encourage you to explore your mind while within the ketamine space, and assist you in integrating your experiences afterwards.

Ketamine works by affecting the way signals are sent between nerve cells in the brain. It’s like a messenger that changes how the brain communicates. When someone takes Ketamine, it can help with different things like reducing pain or making someone feel less sad. Ketamine might make you feel like you’re in a special state of mind that’s different from usual. It can help you have really deep and amazing experiences that feel extraordinary or mystical. These sorts of experiences have been shown to expand one’s sense of self and understanding of existence and may enable you to access your own healing wisdom. Your providers serve as guides and assist in processing the experience and its impact on your everyday life.
KAP has shown promise in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and various mood disorders, especially when other treatments have been ineffective.
When administered by qualified medical professionals, Ketamine is generally considered safe. Our practitioners follow strict safety protocols to ensure a secure and controlled environment.
During a session, you’ll receive a carefully controlled dose of Ketamine and engage in a therapy session. The session can last up to three hours, with the therapist staying with you the entire time. The medical professional is there while you are adminsitered the Ketamine, and will check in throughout the therapy session to monitor vitals and ensure safety. After the effects of Ketamine begin to wear off, the therapist will make sure you are feeling well enough to leave and have successfully navigated the Ketamine experience. The experience can vary, but many clients report enhanced self-reflection and emotional processing.
After each dosing session, you will have an integration session, during which you will meet with the therapist for a more traditional therapy session, to help you make sense of what you experienced during the dosing session and to talk through any connections, revelations, or questions that you experienced while under the influence of the Ketamine.
The duration of effects can vary, but many clients experience relief that lasts several days or more. The number of sessions needed depends on individual goals and progress but our protocol will include one or two preparation sessions, four dosing sessions, and ongoing integration sessions.
KAP is not recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions, substance use issues, or a history of psychosis. A thorough assessment is conducted to determine suitability.
Insurance coverage varies, and KAP may not be covered by all plans. The majority of KAP sessions are self-pay. We can provide information to help you explore reimbursement options.
Ketamine is not typically associated with addiction when used as part of a therapeutic process. It is administered in controlled and non-recreational doses.
KAP can be used as a standalone treatment, but our program requires that it be combined with traditional psychotherapy to maximize its benefits and address underlying issues.
If you have a supportive relationship with a therapist already, there is no need to end that relationship and it can be used in conjunction with your work with us. We are happy to work collaboratively with your therapist so you can return to therapy with them following your KAP sessions and continue your healing journey.
Ketamine can have side effects, including dissociation, changes in perception, and mild hallucinations during sessions. These effects are closely monitored and managed by our trained professionals.
No, the experience is significantly different. KAP is administered in a therapeutic setting and is focused on healing, self-exploration, and personal growth.
For our typical KAP protocol, which includes 2 assessment sessions – one with a therapist and one with an APNP, four dosing sessions, and four integration sessions, we charge $4,400.
