Jonathan Seyer, LPC-IT
I earned a Master’s from Mount Mary University and am currently working to obtain licensure as a professional counselor. I enjoy taking an open and individualistic needs based approach. I primarily practice existential, person centered, psychoanalytic, art-psychotherapy, and play based approaches, but am also familiar with other forms of therapy like Solution Focused, CBT, DBT, and Internal Family Systems. I believe that it is important to shift focus from treating the symptoms to forming a better understanding of the root elements and experiences that bring great impact. I value the importance of discovering a healthy balance within a system of strengths and weaknesses. I have recently worked with veterans, adults and senior community members, children and adolescents. My passion is working with the individuals who may feel as if they are the outsiders or the pieces that don’t quite fit. I believe these are the individuals that bring the most creative insight to the world but may also take an often difficult and violently opposed path. My mission is not to repair any broken parts, it is to accompany the individual as they discover new strengths and meanings, to live contently with their diverse array of ever growing parts.
