School-Based Therapist
Victoria Meyer is a Licensed Professional Counselor currently working as a school-based therapist with children and adolescents. Victoria earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from Adler University. Victoria has clinical experience in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization settings where she provided evidence-based group therapy, as well as some individual and family therapy, to adolescents and their families who presented with a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked in Chicago Public Schools through an Americorps based program providing various forms of support to elementary age students. Victoria utilizes a client-centered and strengths-based approach that incorporates techniques from DBT, CBT and motivational interviewing to empower young people to create change and live fulfilling lives. Victoria’s goal as a therapist is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can gain a better understanding of themselves through self-exploration while supporting them in learning skills to facilitate healthy coping and growth.
