Professional Services Group

Alternatives Group serves youth who have received a first underage drinking citation. Youth have the option to take the 12 hour class or lose their license. This program takes place through the Portage County Court System.

AODA Advocacy provides a pre-assessment as well as individual and/or family, and group counseling. This program also provides community outreach and education. Referrals for this program can originate from Portage County Health and Human Services, schools or a parent.

Electronic Monitoring offers an alternative to incarceration and out-of-home placement for juveniles. Electronic monitoring serves as a technical procedure for the monitoring of a client's adherence to curfew compliance. The equipment used requires no active participation by the client except in wearing the transmitter on his/her ankle.

The Institutional Liaison Program works with children placed in residential treatment centers, child caring institutions, and correctional facilities. This liaison works to make sure appropriate treatment needs are being met, and helps arrange an aftercare plan for when the youth is returning to the community.

Intensive Aftercare serves youth who have been placed in corrections, residential treatment centers, and treatment foster care. Employees work with the offender and their families returning to the community from placement to ensure that treatment occurs. Anger management, AODA education and self esteem groups are also offered on a weekly basis.

Intensive Supervision services adjudicated delinquent youth, ages 12-17 years old. The program offers a variety of services that include individual and family counseling; liaison between the client, Department of Social Services, and the school setting; recreational activities in a group setting; appearances in Juvenile Court; and help with finding jobs for our clients.
